Checkout flow — what happens after you click 'View at …'

A short walkthrough of the partner experience so you know what to expect — and what red flags to watch for.

Step 1 — Our interstitial (3 seconds)

Any "View at …" or fare card opens a Hawaii Sky Mall interstitial that names the destination partner ("Heading to kayak.com"), shows a small spinner, and redirects after 2.5 seconds. The interstitial exists so:

  • You know which partner you're being sent to before the redirect.
  • Your browser is given a clean referrer transition (no auto-form-submit).
  • Ad-platform crawlers see a clear handoff page rather than a hidden redirect.

Step 2 — Partner search-results page

You'll land on the partner's flight search-results page (Kayak, Priceline, CheapOair, Hopper, Orbitz, Skyscanner, Google Flights, or the carrier directly) with origin, destination, dates, cabin and pax pre-filled. Live availability and fares are computed by the partner — not us.

Step 3 — Partner fare selection

Pick the fare bucket you want. Most partners now expose the carrier's fare brand (Basic, Main, Comfort+, Premium Economy, Business) and price the upgrade right on the results page. Take a screenshot before continuing — partner pricing changes between results and checkout.

Step 4 — Partner checkout (payment)

Enter passenger details and payment at the partner, not on Hawaii Sky Mall. We never see your card. Things to verify:

  • Final price matches the search-results fare ± reasonable taxes.
  • Trip type is correct (one-way vs round-trip).
  • Cabin matches what you selected.
  • Baggage policy section is visible — read it before paying.
  • Cancellation/refund policy is shown — screenshot it.

Step 5 — Confirmation and PNR

After payment, the partner issues a confirmation number (booking ID) and emails a receipt. For airline-direct bookings you also receive a carrier PNR. For OTA bookings, the OTA's number is your primary reference until ticketing completes (usually within 30 min). After ticketing, check in directly on the airline's own site with the carrier confirmation code embedded in your itinerary email.

Red flags to abort

  • Price jumps > 10% between search and checkout — go back, refresh.
  • Currency switches mid-flow (USD → EUR) — abort, re-enter with correct currency.
  • "Hold seat for $19.99 for 24 hours" upsells — skip; not necessary for typical Hawaii itineraries.
  • Travel-protection add-ons with auto-tick — uncheck before paying if you don't want them.

If something goes wrong

Refunds, cancellations, schedule changes, and lost baggage all live with the partner or the carrier — not Hawaii Sky Mall. We can't access PNRs, modify itineraries, or process refunds. Contact your partner's customer service or the carrier directly.

Hawaii Sky Mall operates as an editorial trade name in California. We are not a registered LLC, not an airline, and not an OTA. All fares shown are research estimates — every booking completes at the partner or airline website you choose. We do not process payments, hold reservations, or issue PNRs. Hawaiian Airlines, United, Delta, Alaska and other carriers shown are independent third parties and are not affiliated with this site.
